Dr. Jiri A. Konecny, D.O. is a highly skilled thoracic surgeon. He is Board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (in Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery). He earned his medical degree (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, CA in July 1991. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California Irvine, CA majoring in biology. Dr. Konecny completed 3 years of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Fellowship at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ in June 1999. He served as a general surgery resident in Peninsula Hospital Center in Far Rockaway, NY after a year of rotating internship at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, Long Beach, CA. Previously he held a position as an associate surgeon at St. Clair Cardiovascular Surgeons in Detroit, MI. He has been active as a clinical instructor to surgical fellows, residents and medical students. Recently Dr. Konecny has been appointed an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Touro University in Vallejo, CA. He is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California and Cardiothoracic Surgery Net.

The Consumers Research Council of America has awarded Dr. Konecny with the distinguished title as one of the "AMERICA'S TOP SURGEONS" for the years 2004-2005.
